01 / THE PROBLEM

The challenge

Make a growing collection of tools easy to discover and consistent to use, while avoiding unnecessary uploads of supported file content.

02 / ENGINEERING APPROACH

How it’s structured

A typed tool registry powers catalog, category, and individual utility routes. Shared layouts keep the experience consistent. Browser Web Workers handle heavier image and PDF tasks; server-only boundaries isolate account, usage, content, and payment foundations.

Tool experience

Typed registry, reusable ToolLayout, category pages, and lazy-loaded functionality.

Private processing

Supported file content stays in the browser; usage checks carry lightweight metadata.

Platform foundations

Prisma data model, server-only services, admin/content operations, and idempotent Stripe webhook handling.

03 / IMPLEMENTATION

What the project includes

  • PDF merge, image-to-PDF, resizing, compression, QR generation, and text/developer utilities.
  • Searchable categories and dedicated tool routes with shared UI and metadata.
  • Browser-local file processing and Web Workers for heavier tasks.
  • Account, favorites, usage-history, and protected admin foundations.
  • Automated checks, smoke/E2E workflows, and documented launch/rollback procedures.
04 / CURRENT STATE

What’s available

A public tool workspace with browser-first utilities and a modular implementation designed for phased expansion. The live deployment exposes the public tool experience; backend and paid-plan foundations should not be confused with fully verified production services.

Scope & limitations

The notes describe launch-candidate work in progress. Payments, account services, monitoring, contact protection, and distributed rate limiting depend on configured services and staging acceptance. Roadmap utilities are not all implemented.
